Transfer on Death Deeds

Transfer on Death Deeds provide a simple means of transferring title to real estate upon the death of the owner without the need for probate, while allowing the owner to maintain absolute control over the property during his or her lifetime. The owner can revoke the Deed or change the beneficiary without the knowledge or consent of the beneficiary. They are a very useful tool in the right circumstances, but are not wise to use in every case. There are many situations in which they can do more harm than good.
